Medical Science Liaison Leader

THE POSITION:
The Principal Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within a defined territory. The product launch is ongoing as the first and only FDA-approved therapy for desmoid tumors. A Marketing Authorisation Application for desmoid tumors in Europe was submitted in February 2024.
The Principal MSL will be the scientific face of the company in the field. The Principal MSL role requires mastery of technical, clinical, and functional expertise that is above and beyond a Senior MSL. A Principal MSL will be able to maximize and leverage Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships by identifying collaborative opportunities that meet the strategic needs of the company.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain an excellent scientific and medical knowledge base.
- Communicate key insights learned and disseminate critical scientific data to external stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and appropriate input on the field medical engagement plans in support of our clinical development and commercialization programs and activities.
- Assist and drive the support of the company's clinical trials in partnership with the clinical development team and with researchers as appropriate.
- Master the Sr. MSL responsibilities and take on additional leadership roles on projects and initiatives that increase the value and productivity of the MSL team and Medical Affairs.
- Build and maintain deep expert relationships with relevant KOLs.
- Support and advise in translating the field medical strategy to a national KOL plan.
- Provide expert scientific support to MSLs as needed for KOL interactions.
- Consistently partner with Medical Information colleagues to continuously improve Standard Response Letters, FAQs, and efficiency of MIRF process.
- Act as expert and primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research.
- Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with local, regional, national, and international strategy.
- Develop and maintain strong and deep relationships with clinical decision makers at local, regional, national, and international institutions.
- Advanced Scientific degree required (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, Advanced Practice Degree, NP, PA).
- Minimum of 5-10 years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Oncology experience essential.
- Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in Oncology and/or Neurosciences.
- Demonstrated mastery of effectively presenting clinical/scientific information through 1:1 meetings, small group interactions, and through written communications.
