Software Engineer for Control System Development

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team at Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control software for our stationary battery storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate function groups in TIA (SCL, FBD)
  • Process requirements specifications for software of control components (PLC)
  • Document architecture/design with UML tools
  • Program and design HMI interfaces in the control environment
  • Support implementation of data archiving systems (database & visualization)
  • Design and coordinate hardware and software interfaces
  • Support commissioning of complex systems
  • Analyze errors occurring at customers or in our test systems
  • Support design and documentation of end-of-line tests
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or Computer Science
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the field
  • Excellent knowledge of Siemens PLC programming TIA (SCL, FUP)
  • Experience in implementation and execution of automated system and commissioning tests
  • Good knowledge of product portfolios for control system design from various manufacturers (hardware components)
  • Experience with communication protocols (TCP/IP, MQTT, AMQP, Profi-Net, Modbus)
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English
  • High capacity for abstraction
  • Independent and goal-oriented way of working
  • Commitment and ability to work in a team
