Street Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Road Maintenance Worker (m/f/d) or Road Builder (m/f/d) for the Autobahnmeisterei Gelsenkirchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, repair, and upkeep of highways, roads, and associated infrastructure, including pavement repair, surface treatments, and signage installation.
  • Install, maintain, and inspect traffic signs and signals.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and traffic control measures are in place.
  • Perform grounds maintenance and landscaping tasks.
  • Participate in winter maintenance operations on designated highways and adjacent infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Completed vocational training in road maintenance or construction.
  • Experience in highway maintenance or construction.
  • Valid driver's license (Class B) and CE certification, with willingness to operate company vehicles.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Availability for shift work and on-call duties during winter and summer seasons.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.

The position is suitable for part-time employment. The selection process will be conducted by a commission.
