Lead Software Engineer

This is a full-time role within a dynamic and innovative environment.
As a senior software engineer at BigRep, you will contribute to a diverse and highly skilled team focused on the development of slicing software.
The slicing software serves as a crucial interface between our clients' concepts and the actual production of components on our machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test software functionalities within the slicing software utilizing C++ and Python.
- Oversee the comprehensive software architecture, which includes a Conan package system developed with Gitlab CI/CD.
- Lead a small technical team of developers and 3D printing specialists.
- Collaborate closely with experts from various departments, including embedded software engineers, material scientists, and quality assurance testers, to devise optimal solutions for intricate challenges.
- Incorporate feedback from materials, mechanical, and QA/testing teams into the slicing software.
- Develop user interface features, particularly leveraging the Qt framework.
Your Profile
• Master's degree or diploma in computer science or equivalent professional experience (6+ years).
• Proficient in C++ (version 17 or newer), Python, and the PyQt framework.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and package management systems.
• Proven experience in delivering products within real-world agile team settings.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work across different functions.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving results.
Desirable Additional Skills:
• Background in computational geometry or algorithm-intensive fields.
• Knowledge of 3D printing processes and tools.
• Experience with CAD and CAM development tools.
• Proficiency in the German language.
