About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Technician to join our team at Microsoft. As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, providing technical support and maintenance to our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and maintenance to data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as power cycling, swapping out failed components, and handling storage media.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data center infrastructure, including hardware and software problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operation of data center services.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve data center efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in data center infrastructure and operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in data center operations, technical support, or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of data center infrastructure, networking, and storage systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Applicable certifications, such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Network Certifications.
  • Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment, such as pallet jacks and chassis lifts.
  • Knowledge of safety programs and policies, with ability to perform and execute organization's safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work non-business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
