Director of Operations Management - Contract Logistics (m/f/d)

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development:

Formulate and consolidate the operational strategy for Germany in alignment with global operations.

Process Optimization:

Enhance, implement, and manage all operational processes according to established strategies and objectives. This includes network optimization, distribution center setup, equipment procurement, contingency planning, and sustainability initiatives. Ensure accountability for budget outcomes within your area of responsibility.

Leadership and Team Development:

Lead transformative changes in the leadership structure of operations; unify and further develop the organizational framework within Supply Chain Operations in Germany. Oversee direct reports, manage staffing requirements, recruitment, employee development, salary assessments, and provide overall support to team members.

Operational Excellence and Business Growth:

Maintain a customer-centric focus to consistently achieve operational excellence at optimal costs. Enhance capabilities to seamlessly integrate new clients, driving resources, equipment, and technologies to improve operational efficiency, reliability, safety, and effectiveness. Collaborate with sales to ensure profitability, suggesting potential integrations and benefits. Identify best practices and guidelines to position the company as a market leader.

Quality Assurance:

Implement quality assurance programs and initiatives to meet market and customer standards. Ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding hazard analysis critical control points, quality inspection programs, distribution quality management processes, and performance indices.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in economics or engineering
  • Over 10 years of experience in logistics and transportation operational roles
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in negotiating with external stakeholders and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and regional teams
  • Fluency in both German and English
