OBJECTIVE AND OVERVIEW:
This role is pivotal in supporting the mission, vision, and core values of Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA). The Master Social Worker (MSW) will play a crucial role in aiding patients to reach their psychosocial objectives while ensuring the provision of superior behavioral health care. This position entails providing guidance and support to facility master social workers across designated regions, acting as a key resource and expert in psychosocial matters to enhance patient care quality and clinical outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as a primary expert in psychosocial issues, collaborating with fellow MSWs and the Area Quality Team to identify and implement clinical quality improvements that align with CMS Conditions for Coverage and FMCNA quality standards. Oversees the execution of Quality and Social Work initiatives, ensuring effective interventions and educational materials are delivered by facility MSWs in the assigned region. Provides strategic direction and social work insights based on established professional standards and FMCNA guidelines, facilitating the achievement of key outcomes related to quality, patient satisfaction, teamwork, and employee engagement. Leads and develops direct reports through comprehensive coaching and development plans, in partnership with Human Resources for employee-related matters. Ensures adequate staffing for Social Work Services, coordinating coverage for master social workers during absences, vacations, and increased patient census. Manages the orientation and ongoing training of new master social workers, collaborating with Clinical Educators and facility staff to enhance clinical competencies and compliance with policies. Participates in various meetings, including regional and facility gatherings, to foster team development and effective interdisciplinary collaboration. Conducts audits of Social Work documentation to ensure compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage and FMCNA policies. Verifies that all master social workers maintain current licensure and continuing education as mandated by the Association of Social Work Boards and state regulations. Regularly reviews the registration and licensure status of direct reports. Performs additional duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
