As a vital member of our international team, you will engage in the design, development, and maintenance of secure, efficient, and reliable software using Java and Python within a complex software ecosystem focused on the space sector. Your responsibilities will include creating software that supports cybersecurity monitoring for both space and terrestrial components.

Your role will involve identifying performance issues and bugs, and crafting solutions to enhance system functionality. You will contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality, organization, and automation. Additionally, you will translate client requirements into actionable features and develop proficiency in estimating and defining your upcoming tasks.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Germany, with the possibility of remote work.
Your Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, document, and test software applications in Java and Python for cybersecurity monitoring in a space context.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in computer science or a related field.
- Proficiency in Java and Python, with a solid understanding of their respective specifications, along with experience in design, development, and testing. Familiarity with standard template libraries and their containers is essential.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and the ability to interpret and create UML class diagrams.
- Experience with development tools such as debuggers, profilers, and tracing utilities. Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and pragmatic approach are crucial.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and DevSecOps methodologies.
- A collaborative team player.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English.
Additional experience in advanced software development practices will be advantageous:
- Secure software development adhering to DevSecOps principles.
- Familiarity with Linux command line, version control systems (Git), and build tools (Maven).
- Experience in code debugging, static and dynamic analysis.
- Knowledge of continuous integration processes and tools.
- Understanding of automated testing methodologies.
- Experience with application integration and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Agile Software Development practices.
Work Arrangement: This position allows for primarily remote work within Germany, with occasional travel required.
