Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at MINE Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our dishes, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delegating tasks to kitchen staff and coordinating with service staff to ensure seamless service.
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef to establish preparation guidelines and create menus that showcase our culinary expertise.
  • Training and monitoring staff to ensure adherence to preparation guidelines, standards, and hygiene regulations.
  • Managing the handling and maintenance of work equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy kitchen environment.
  • Monitoring and ordering inventory, and implementing effective storage solutions to minimize waste.
  • Analyzing supplier conditions, prices, and delivery terms to optimize our purchasing strategy.
  • Participating in the a la carte service and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.
Requirements:
  • Berlin residence and ready-to-start status are required.
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar position is essential.
  • Experience in a high-volume upscale restaurant is an advantage.
  • Passion for the culinary arts and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory control systems is required.
  • English skills are essential, and proficiency in other languages, particularly German, is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are necessary.
