Your Role

Position Overview: Head of Data Security (m/f/d)

We are seeking a qualified manager to implement essential measures ensuring that BuildingMinds consistently adheres to relevant data protection regulations. You will oversee the management of our information security management system standards, ensuring they are not only met but also documented effectively.

In this role, you will report directly to senior management and coordinate compliance activities related to applicable laws (e.g., GDPR) and data security standards (e.g., ISO 27001). You will serve as the primary contact for all internal stakeholders regarding data privacy and security matters, collaborating closely with our Information Security Officer to develop policies that enforce compliance and deliver training to enhance staff awareness of data protection measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a deep understanding of data protection laws and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, focusing on thorough documentation.
  • Take ownership of data protection law and standard documentation.
  • Develop, monitor, and refine processes required for compliance with evolving data protection laws and standards.
  • Identify and assess BuildingMinds' data processing activities.
  • Conduct gap analyses and generate compliance reports.
  • Engage in discussions with management and stakeholders to promote privacy by design.
  • Interact with the Data Protection Officer as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of data processing operations.
  • Address inquiries from data subjects within legal timeframes.
  • Collaborate with third-party organizations processing data on our behalf.
  • Provide training on data protection and security to staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficient in English and German.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various management levels and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and security standards (e.g., ISO).
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in data protection and security, with a focus on documentation and ISO 27001 certification.
  • Familiarity with data processing operations in the real estate sector is advantageous.
  • Trustworthy with high ethical standards and the ability to report non-compliance issues impartially.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fast learner with intrinsic motivation.
