We are seeking a highly skilled Taxation Specialist to join our team at Alstom in Hennigsdorf, Germany. As a Taxation Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing VAT returns and advance returns, as well as monthly tax reporting obligations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and advance returns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in the processing of all VAT issues, ensuring compliance with German VAT rules and regulations.
  • Process tax account reconciliations and associated reporting, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Contribute to the further development and digitalization of our VAT compliance system and tax processes.
  • Perform detailed analyses of transactions to assist in dealing with enquiries from the tax authorities or the company.
  • Support with tax projects and tax audits, as well as tax registration of new and existing companies.
  • Participate in the calculation of period income tax.
  • Prepare periodic reports and statistics to ensure transparency and accountability.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Tax or in Accounting or comparable qualification.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Tax department, with expertise in German VAT compliance rules and tax accounting.
    • Experience in SAP ERP system is a plus.
    • Confident with MS-Office Tools, with a strong knowledge of Excel.
    • Fluent German and English is mandatory.
    • Independent, methodical, and structured way of working.
    • Enjoying new and changing challenges.
