We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Content Acquisition Manager to join our team at Amazon Digital Germany GmbH. As a key member of our content acquisition team, you will play a crucial role in developing relationships with publishers and content producers in Germany, identifying and initiating relationships with third-party content providers, and supporting negotiations for Wondery content deals.
Key Responsibilities- Content Sourcing and Acquisition: Identify and prioritize third-party content providers to position Wondery as the best ad sales and content partner in Germany.
- Negotiation and Partnership Development: Support negotiations for the production of Wondery Original shows, working closely with internal teams.
- Content Onboarding and Management: Act as a point of contact with third-party content providers and ensure internal coordination with cross-functional Wondery teams.
- Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Onboard new third-party content providers, manage inbound questions, and deliver updates on key metrics and performance.
- Strategic Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet financial and technical goals.
- Market Research and Analysis: Monitor the competitive landscape to inform Wondery's strategic priorities and expansion opportunities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with global stakeholders to draft greenlight documents and financial models.
- Experience and Expertise: Experience in a content acquisition, business affairs, licensing, or business development role.
- Business Acumen and Analytical Skills: Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Goal-Oriented and Results-Driven: A proven track record of setting and exceeding aggressive goals.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Business Judgment and Strategic Thinking: Strong business judgment and demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically.
- Language Skills: English (C1) and German (C2) speaking and writing or equivalent.
- Advanced Education and Training: MBA or Masters/equivalent.
- Industry Knowledge and Expertise: Deep understanding of the DACH podcast or audio entertainment landscape and associated business models.
- Content Acquisition Experience: Experience in content acquisition within podcasts or similar entertainment media (TV, Film, OTT, audio, etc.).
- Self-Starter and Team Player: Self-starter who is customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player.
- Networking and Public Speaking: Natural taste for networking and public speaking.
- Proactive and Results-Driven: Proven bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
