The Senior Director of Clinical Affairs is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical expertise and insights throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept development to product discontinuation. This role emphasizes the integration of scientific trends, ethical practices, and clinical insights into Philips' operational frameworks, while also leveraging these insights for strategic commercial initiatives, including relationship management and brand representation.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer strategic thought leadership on critical clinical issues to guide the development and execution of business strategies. Collaborate with HEMAR teams to establish governance and capabilities in Clinical Affairs, Market Access, and outcomes research, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and evidence requirements. Assist in formulating and upholding a comprehensive Clinical and Economic Strategy. Ensure that clinical and economic evidence strategies foster innovation and demonstrate value to both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders for new and existing products. Support regulatory teams throughout the submission process. Ensure compliant and effective clinical follow-up and scientific contributions to safety management. Lead initiatives to cultivate talent with essential competencies in scientific reasoning to address current and future clinical evidence challenges. Oversee all operational processes related to Clinical Affairs and outcomes research, ensuring thorough management throughout the product lifecycle. Direct Clinical Affairs teams in the preparation and submission of clinical investigation notifications and approval requests to relevant authorities. Provide clinical and scientific guidance on marketing materials and healthcare professional communications, ensuring compliance with established requirements. Collaborate with Corporate Clinical Affairs to maintain efficient and compliant Clinical Affairs processes.Ideal Candidate Profile:
PhD or Medical Degree is preferred. Over 10 years of experience in medical or clinical affairs within the medical device or biotechnology sectors. At least 8 years of experience in leading teams through transformational change. In-depth understanding of disease states, clinical data, and product information relevant to the business. Proven ability to influence business decisions regarding clinical evidence, including risk evaluation and investment considerations. Demonstrated success in talent management and development, ensuring succession planning with a focus on scientific expertise. Extensive knowledge of clinical trial design, execution, and data analysis, ideally with experience in non-therapeutic devices. Ability to meet the physical, cognitive, and environmental requirements of the role, with or without accommodation.About Philips:

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is between $223,000 and $350,000 annually, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as experience, skills, and location. Additional compensation may include bonuses and participation in our comprehensive benefits program, which features generous paid time off, retirement plans, health savings accounts, and educational reimbursement.
