A Snapshot of Your Day


The Project Manager in the Sustainable Energy Solutions group designs, develops, and leads customer Solution projects, according to defined Project Management (PM) standards and customer requirements, with end-to-end responsibility for economic results, quality, schedule, and EHS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stands for overall responsibility on project results, including budget, financial management of risks, opportunities, claims, scheduling, and EHS.
  • Responsible for the project team by supporting team members, delegating packages, encouraging team member professional development, and crafting an entrepreneurial culture passionate about adherence to safety, compliance standards, and Siemens Energy Business Conduct Guidelines.
  • Leads the project throughout the project Life Cycle until final acceptance (FAC), including responsibility for planning elements and milestone results, contract familiarization and management, integration of technical solutions and systems, documentation, handover, testing, and leading regular meetings and meeting budgetary and timeline standards.
  • Consultative advisor on customer requirements, including management of customer expectations, consulting on technical solutions in conjunction with sales team, clarification of customer targets and requirements in RFP process, customer communication leader on all relevant project milestones, and active management and revisions on lessons learned during project timeline.
  • Strategic development of target agreements along with collaboration from business partners and represent project portfolio on relevant boards.
  • Ownership of full project finance targets and results, including targets, proposal/entry costs, controlling, and regulatory requirements, along with minimization of non-conformances costs and risks.
  • Establish positive relationships with partners by efficient communication, leading impact studies, and problem-solving through obstacles.
  • Negotiate contracts, change requests, and design packages in consensus with collaborator engagement.
  • Assess, analyze, and handle risks and claims for projects in category C portfolio and strategically lead bar-raising mitigation efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or relevant field) required, with a preference for an advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Several years of experience in a combination of technical engineering and project management roles on mid-to-large-scale projects in a relevant industry, with responsibility for full scope of results and outcomes of projects and subprojects in portfolio.
  • Experience leading and developing a project team, inclusive of project managers and engineers.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and contract terms as relevant to mid and large-scale projects and proficiency in the negotiation of such.
  • Specialized knowledge of risk mitigation and management on the full lifecycle of projects and experience with leading both claims and quality review of full scope.
  • Business fluent in English and German and willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.
