Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

Team Overview:
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Cybersecurity Engineer who possesses a deep-seated enthusiasm for safeguarding information and a proven track record in crafting, developing, and executing security frameworks within a hybrid setting. The chosen candidate will offer technical guidance and serve as a subject matter expert within the Cybersecurity Operations Team. This team collaborates closely with various departments within the Information Security division, as well as with external stakeholders. The Cybersecurity Operations (SecOps) Team is tasked with spearheading and executing initiatives aimed at enhancing SumUp's security posture, including security surveillance, incident management, vulnerability assessment, threat intelligence, and advising on security best practices.
As a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer, you will integrate into the Cybersecurity Operations (SecOps) team, partnering with diverse groups to architect and deploy security solutions, ensuring that robust security measures are implemented and capabilities are developed to enhance efficiency in security logging, monitoring, and alerting. You will have the opportunity to influence the overall security framework through projects related to security architecture design, formulation of security best practices, and the design and deployment of security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and deploy a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution Develop and implement security technologies to enhance our detection and response capabilities while fulfilling security and compliance requirements (EDR, firewalls, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.) Provide counsel on secure technical architectures and routinely assess existing frameworks to enhance and update the security posture Automate processes to bolster our detection and response capabilities Oversee our monitoring infrastructure Play a pivotal role in implementing secure practices and promoting collaboration through awareness trainingIdeal Candidate Profile:
A minimum of 6+ years of experience in security operations and engineering Proficient in AWS cloud security tools, network security, application security, compliance/hardening, security analytics, vulnerability management, and security operations Familiarity with SIEM tools for designing and implementing security solutions A solid grasp of security architecture design principles and practical experience in their application Demonstrated experience working with security services provided by cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to safeguard information assets Strong expertise in security analysis from a Security Operations Center (SOC) perspective (detection, triage, investigation, prevention, remediation, mitigation, etc.)Why Consider Joining SumUp:
