Senior R&D Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior R&D Engineer to join our team at Ansys. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for developing software products and supporting systems that drive innovation and advancement in the field of computational fluid dynamics.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in planning, architecture, and research to drive innovation and advancement in computational fluid dynamics
- Perform complex development activities, including user experience, software design, and solver research
- Employ best practices and help maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring
- Perform complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions
- Research and understand marketing requirements for products, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
- Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies
- Course work and practical experience developing models in computational fluid dynamics and thermal sciences
- Practical experience in numerical software development
- Fortran experience
- Willingness to learn scientific computer languages, including Python
- Familiarity with commercial CFD software
- Familiarity with various aspects of parallel computing and HPC
- Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
- Understanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domain
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Oral and written English proficiency
- Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team
