IT Support Technician

We are seeking a Technical Assistance Coordinator for the Northern Germany Region. In this position, you will be tasked with delivering first and second level support for various end-user devices, including laptops, desktops, printers, and barcode scanners. You will also implement standards set by the system and network engineering teams, focusing on planning and supporting the infrastructure in areas such as desktop support, WAN, LAN, servers, and disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver first and second level support for end-user devices, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and barcode scanners.
- Provide diagnostic support for the System and Network Engineering Teams and the Service Desk, assisting with desktops, WAN, LAN, and servers, while documenting site-specific network and server information.
- Develop and update work instructions for new and existing tasks, ensuring all documentation is properly formatted and stored as directed by the team lead.
- Participate in a global on-call support rotation, providing assistance to various geographic locations, and be reachable within a short timeframe when on call.
- Monitor service desk notifications via email, resolving or escalating issues as necessary.
- Offer change management support during on-call weekends.
- Adhere to established change, incident, and problem management processes, escalating issues to the Service Desk as needed.
- Proactively identify security concerns and escalate them to the appropriate team lead or manager, while ensuring compliance with purchasing processes for IT equipment.
- Provide on-site support for new site launches and server/network refresh initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A qualification in computer science or equivalent professional training and certification, complemented by relevant technical experience.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to document processes and procedures effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with IT colleagues, business leaders, and external auditors.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Outstanding organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of desktop hardware, operating systems, and software.
- Familiarity with network systems and protocols, as well as server hardware and operating systems.
