About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH - R28 team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative cloud-based solutions that enhance the developer experience on AWS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new architectures based on business requirements
  • Find innovative and well-maintained solutions to complex problems
  • Coach and grow engineers around you by providing feedback, reviewing designs, and giving input on best practices
  • Learn and use modern and advanced technologies
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, leading technology companies around the world, and the open source community
  • Lead cross-team projects and ensure technical blockers are resolved
  • Develop cloud-based solutions that will delight software developers and system administrators globally
  • Create innovative products and see them launched in high-volume production environments
  • Participate in on-call rotation

About the Team

You will work on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Next Gen DevX (NGDE) team, where we are using generative AI and foundation models to reimagine the experience of all builders on AWS. From the IDE to web-based tools and services, AI will help engineers work on large and small applications. In this team, we explore new technologies and find creative solutions. Curiosity and an explorative mindset can impact the life of engineers around the world.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems
  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • Experience in development in the last 3 years
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in the AI/ML space
