Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of our optimization platform. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing strategic tech initiatives, leading the architecture and design of our platform, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the development of our optimization platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Lead the architecture and design of our platform, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Mentor and guide team members, enhancing their workflows and knowledge.
- Define and promote engineering best practices, educating engineers and data scientists on designing and delivering maintainable solutions.
- Support colleagues during onboarding, daily operations, and strategic tasks.
- Implement and advance our optimization and trading algorithm performance, focusing on both immediate go-lives and long-term evolution.
- Maintain and improve our tech stack, development environments, and infrastructure.
- 8 years of experience in Software Engineering (Backend and algorithmic) in the cloud.
- 3+ years of experience with Python, including object-oriented design.
- 4+ years of experience in onboarding, mentoring, and coaching colleagues in junior and mid-level positions.
- Proven track record of pragmatic delivery and strategic project execution.
- Experience working cross-functionally, especially with Product and Data Science teams.
- Team player with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts.
- Experience and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strategic and analytical thinking.
- Full business proficiency in English.
- Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform and services like Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
- Experience in the energy industry.
- Experience with design thinking/sprints.
