Senior Project Financial Controller

Position Overview: Lead Project Controller
EUMETSAT, the premier meteorological satellite agency in Europe, operates a sophisticated fleet of satellites that provide critical weather and climate data to users globally, playing a vital role in safeguarding lives, property, and industries.
Within the Project Planning and Control Competence Area (PPC CA), the Lead Project Controller is tasked with overseeing financial management, budgetary planning, and cost control for two key departments: Technical and Scientific Support (TSS) and Operations and Support to Users (OPS).
The ideal candidate will lead a dedicated team of Project Controllers and work closely with core technical teams throughout the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring that budgetary and financial planning for maintenance and operations is executed accurately, with the individual serving as the primary authority for budget implementation and oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Project Planning and Control services to TSS and OPS departments, adhering to established processes, while managing the Project Control team responsible for these functions.
- Consolidate planning assumptions for satellite programs in operational phases and evaluate activity schedules for alignment with cost planning.
- Contribute departmental insights to EUMETSAT's overall budget and financial planning, maintaining financial profiles for operational programs and coordinating with the Program Development department regarding next-generation satellite systems.
- Deliver cost-at-completion assessments and margin analyses for operational programs by establishing and maintaining cost baselines and relevant cost scenarios.
- Generate progress reports for management, including performance metrics and analysis of variances and trends.
- Coordinate and integrate the outcomes of OPS and TSS human resource planning, ensuring a thorough understanding of its implications for the overall budget and financial planning.
- Assist the Project Planning and Control Competence Area Manager in enhancing project planning and control processes, standards, methodologies, and tools.
Qualifications:
A university degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field is required.
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in English is essential, with a working knowledge of French being advantageous.
Employment Conditions:
The initial contract is for a duration of four years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and organizational needs. EUMETSAT offers a competitive salary and benefits package, fostering a long-term career perspective within the agency.
