Position Overview
The Institut für Bioprozess- und Analysenmesstechnik e.V. is a prominent research institution affiliated with the TU Ilmenau, dedicated to advancing the field of life sciences through innovative research. Our focus is on the engineering of molecular and cellular processes, particularly in the context of disease modeling and personalized medicine.

Research Focus
We are currently seeking a Master's student to join our junior research group, Nano-Thrombo-Interfaces (Nano-TI). This group investigates the medicinal properties of Celastrus hindsii, a plant known for its diverse bioactive compounds, including flavonoids and alkaloids. Despite its potential therapeutic benefits, challenges such as poor solubility and low bioavailability hinder its clinical application.

Project Goals
The primary objective of this Master's thesis is to explore the antitumor effects of PEGylated extracts from Celastrus hindsii on various cancer cell lines. This involves:
  • Conducting a comprehensive literature review and developing an experimental plan.
  • Culturing cancer cells and administering drugs at varying concentrations.
  • Assessing cell viability and mortality through ELISA, confocal microscopy, and other methodologies.
  • Performing data analysis and managing research data effectively.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who possess:
  • A background in chemistry, molecular biology, biophysical chemistry, or biotechnology.
  • Experience in protein and cell analysis techniques.
  • A meticulous, reliable, and responsible approach to research.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong communication skills in both German and English (minimum B2 level); knowledge of Vietnamese is a plus.
