Job Title: Platform Manager

Midea Group is a leading home appliance brand, offering a comprehensive selection of products to serve the needs of day-to-day living. As a Platform Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the development of next-generation products, ensuring alignment with market needs and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Development Leadership: Lead and oversee various aspects of product design, development, and implementation, ensuring new products meet market needs and company standards.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all products and processes comply with local and international legal and regulatory standards, overseeing certification processes and maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Local Testing and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive local testing and evaluations of products, setting up and managing user trials, gathering and analyzing feedback, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and competitor strategies to inform the R&D process and help the company maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure a cohesive approach to product development, facilitating effective communication and collaboration between teams.
  • Innovation and Strategy: Continuously seek innovative solutions and improvements in product design and functionality, contributing to the strategic planning of product development to ensure alignment with the company's long-term goals and market demands.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently manage the resources of the German R&D Center, including budget, personnel, and equipment, ensuring optimal use of resources to achieve project objectives and drive the center's growth and success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and customers, to gather insights and feedback that can inform product development and strategies, building and maintaining strong relationships with these stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven experience in research and development, with a specific focus on overseeing projects related to washing machines/dryers or similar appliances.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment, including excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects, with a keen understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • A solid understanding of international standards and regulations in the appliance industry, with experience in ensuring products meet legal compliance and quality standards.
  • Innovative and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and act on emerging trends and technologies in the appliance industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to testing and evaluation.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, particularly between the German R&D Center and the headquarters in Wuxi, as well as other global locations as needed.
