Product Development Manager - Waterproofing Solutions
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our Waterproofing team at Sika. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our Liquid Applied Membranes (LAM) products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead assigned corporate product development projects, evaluating third-party products and maintaining existing product portfolios.
- Conduct field testing of newly developed or optimized products.
- Develop and maintain corporate technical and marketing documentation, including product data sheets, method statements, and technical lead articles.
- Identify market trends and customer needs, translating them into product specifications and steering R&D product developments.
- Drive development activities for complete LAM systems in water management, bridge deck waterproofing, and car parks.
- Support the distribution team in growing LAM solutions in the trade and retail business.
- Provide technical support to key clients, marketing, sales, regional, and local product engineers, as well as key construction projects globally.
- Handle claims related to corporate products and provide support for claim handling of local products.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop training modules and provide training to sales organizations, local/regional product engineers, and clients.
- Ensure a lean product portfolio and suggest possibilities for product line simplification.
- Represent Sika interests at international standard committees, associations, or other relevant organizations.
Requirements:
- Degree in civil engineering or chemistry or proven track record of relevant work experience.
- Minimum 5-10 years of product management or product engineering experience, or direct field experience in waterproofing for various application fields.
- In-depth knowledge of different Liquid Applied Membranes technologies, single and double component, hot and cold spray.
- Leadership of project teams with diverse personalities from different departments.
- Fluency in English, written and verbal.
- Ability to think outside the box and suggest new innovative solutions.
- Teamwork skills, working in international project teams.
- Ability to work independently or in teams.
- Experience in developing and maintaining customer relations.
- Travel up to 30% globally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using and handling construction tools and equipment.
