OTA Integration, Test and Validation Engineer

We are Aiways, leading the transformation of the automotive sector.

For our European headquarters, we are seeking an OTA Integration, Test and Validation Engineer who will contribute to the Connectivity Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary objective of this role is to serve as a test engineer, executing regression tests for OTA platforms across Europe with both current and future vehicle models. Identify software bugs in vehicles to enhance user experience. Act as a specialist in communicating quality concerns to the central organization through established processes to ensure upgrade capabilities in the designated environment. Conduct various tests related to vehicle performance in real-time and offline at multiple locations, focusing on user experience aspects. Oversee over-the-air validation processes, including FOTA and SOTA. Manage FOTA operations for the Aiways fleet throughout Europe. Handle the operation and maintenance of the FOTA test bench. Ensure OTA functionality throughout the entire development lifecycle in Europe. Identify FOTA integration issues and generate reports for Research & Development and other relevant departments. Utilize ticketing systems such as JIRA for issue tracking. Based on the vehicle software release schedule, pinpoint release targets and monitor their status. Respond promptly to OTA technical issues and provide necessary technical support for Aiways and fleet partners. Collaborate with a distributed team across Europe.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or higher in automotive engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, or related fields. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers. Strong proficiency in Linux or equivalent programming skills. Familiarity with OTA, FOTA, SOTA concepts, functionalities, update processes, and release management. Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols such as CAN and LIN. Experience with CAN-based diagnostic tools (e.g., CANoe, Candela, Diva) and flashing and calibration protocols. Solid understanding of E/E architectures in electric vehicles. Exposure to IT concepts (e.g., databases, cloud computing, software architectures). Professional experience in validating software for automotive control units or equivalent qualifications according to ISTQB standards. Class B driving license and proficient driving skills. Proficiency in English; German is a working language, and knowledge of Chinese is a plus. Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to enhancing user experience.
