Senior Technical Manager for SAP S/4HANA

Role Overview

GKN Automotive is in search of a Senior Technical Manager for SAP S/4HANA who will oversee technical teams, offer expertise in development, integration, and SAP BASIS, and play a pivotal role in the successful deployment of SAP S/4HANA across all GKN Automotive facilities.

This role is responsible for designing the GKN Integration and Technical Build strategy for S/4HANA and legacy/external systems, ensuring the quality and governance of Integration Design and Build for the S/4HANA implementation initiative. Additionally, this position is accountable for the GKN Global Architecture Strategy for S/4HANA and Infrastructure Design. Close collaboration with System Integrators is essential to ensure compliance with agreed technical standards and timely delivery of the technical design.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Solutions for SAP S/4HANA: Spearhead the design and execution of integration solutions connecting SAP S/4HANA with external systems, utilizing SAP BTP. BASIS Administration: Direct SAP BASIS administration tasks, encompassing system installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance. Custom Development Leadership: Provide technical guidance to the development team, mentoring developers in SAP technologies. Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular evaluations of code to ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices. Implement quality assurance measures to uphold the integrity and reliability of developed solutions. Security Management: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA security protocols and access controls. Perform regular security audits and assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards and organizational policies. Infrastructure Planning and Management: Collaborate with infrastructure teams to devise and implement robust SAP S/4HANA infrastructure solutions. Conduct regular performance evaluations. EDI Leadership: Provide technical direction to the Integration/EDI team, ensuring seamless communication between trading partners and internal systems. Technical Documentation: Establish coding standards and best practices for custom builds. Review and approve technical design specification documents. Collaboration with Functional Teams: Work closely with functional teams to comprehend business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

To excel in this role, you will possess:

Experience as a Technical Team Lead in 6-7 SAP ECC or S/4HANA implementation projects, ideally across multiple locations/regions. Familiarity with the SAP technical roadmap, Private Cloud, and best practices for security, compliance, and performance optimizations. Proficiency with middleware technologies such as SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite (SAP CPI, API management, Open connectors). Experience in Automotive EDI is advantageous. Extensive knowledge and experience in SAP Native ABAP, Java & S/4HANA. Experience leading onsite and offshore HANA teams from various locations. Understanding of business scenarios for all modules from an SAP perspective to meet specific business processes. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Excellent leadership and communication skills. SAP S/4HANA certification in relevant areas is preferred.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Language Skills: Proficient in English – both verbal and written.
