Your Responsibilities
As the Administrative Director, you will collaborate closely with the Scientific Director, who serves as the spokesperson for HZB's Board of Directors. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. **Management of Administrative Functions**: Oversee all aspects of the business and administrative sectors, including human resources, finance, procurement, legal affairs, and facility management.
2. **Reporting and Compliance**: Regularly report to the Supervisory Board regarding the operational status and organizational health.
3. **Budgetary Oversight**: Act as the representative for budget management, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, radiation protection, and export liability.
4. **Digital Transformation**: Partner with the Scientific Director to advance the digitalization initiatives within HZB.
5. **Collaboration**: Foster strong relationships with federal and state funding agencies, the EU, other Helmholtz Centers, and various national and international partners.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A university degree or equivalent qualification for higher civil service positions, with a strong foundation in business and legal matters.
- Strategic thinking capabilities and an entrepreneurial mindset, along with experience managing complex systems and projects.
- Proven experience in leadership roles within national or international research and science management, preferably in publicly funded institutions.
- A modern approach to leadership, with excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Proficiency in both German and English, enabling effective communication at all organizational levels.
