We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager, EMEA to join our People Operations team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing payroll operations for our Germany-based employees, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for all Germany-based employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Manage payroll tax filings, including income tax, social security, and other statutory deductions.
- Partner with the People Team, Finance, and Legal teams to support compensation and benefits initiatives.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with external vendors and payroll providers to streamline payroll processes.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports for internal stakeholders, including Finance, HR, and management.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments to processes and policies.
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager, with specific expertise in managing German payroll and other EMEA countries.
- In-depth knowledge of EMEA labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory deductions.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing payroll for multinational companies.
- Familiarity with global payroll processes and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of compensation and benefits practices.
