The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will spearhead EHS initiatives at the facility, ensuring adherence to legal and industry standards while promoting best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee EHS functions for the site, aligning with regulatory and organizational expectations.
- Manage and mentor the site EHS team, focusing on performance evaluation, talent development, and recruitment to meet current and future business needs.
- Serve as the primary EHS liaison for local leadership, jointly accountable for executing the EHS strategy and monitoring performance metrics.
- Foster a robust EHS culture by coaching leadership and staff to enhance EHS maturity.
- Engage in EHS management reviews, collaborating with site and regional teams to identify improvement opportunities and prioritize actions.
- Assist in the development and execution of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), ensuring that implemented measures are validated.
- Conduct and participate in EHS audits, inspections, and incident investigations to track progress and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Implement and maintain contractor safety management protocols, ensuring timely reporting of EHS issues and establishing a baseline for contractor incidents.
- Enhance emergency response capabilities and processes at the site level.
- Evaluate and approve EHS deliverables for local capital projects, ensuring compliance with EHS and regulatory standards.
- Build EHS competencies within the local team, providing guidance and support to enable optimal performance.
- Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in supervisory roles within EHS.
- Expertise in developing and implementing EHS policies and standards.
- Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage processes to optimize resources.
- Strong understanding of food safety industry practices and standards.
