Job Title: Technical Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Assistant to join our Process Development team at Ascend Advanced Therapies. As a Technical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the development and manufacturing of gene therapies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Chromatographic purification of recombinant adeno-associated viruses (rAAVs)
  • Use of filtration techniques, such as sterilization and ultra-/diafiltration
  • Preparation of buffer solutions and performance of process-relevant analyses to determine the qualitative and quantitative properties of the produced rAAVs
  • Documentation and evaluation of experimental work
  • Presentation of results to the team
  • General laboratory tasks, including equipment responsibility and material procurement
  • Work with organisms of risk group 1
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, chemistry, biotechnology)
  • Quality awareness and organizational talent in planning, conducting, and documenting experiments
  • Ability to work in a team and enthusiasm for working with chromatography systems
  • Practical experience with chromatography or TFF systems is an advantage, but not required
  • Excellent German and English language skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
