About the Role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a highly skilled Innovation Consultant to join its Innovation Division in Munich, Germany. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in driving innovations and new ventures to advance towards Zero Hunger and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and implementation of core accelerator activities, including content design, operational coordination, and facilitation of boot camps and workshops.
  • Coordinate start-up and innovation sourcing processes, matching start-ups with WFP Country Offices and external organizations.
  • Drive innovations and new ventures to scale, using methodologies such as human-centered design and lean start-up.
  • Support innovation teams in ideation, prototyping, and implementation, and advise on key decisions regarding product features and technology elements.
  • Define key performance indicators and milestones for innovation projects and programs, and ensure their implementation and impact measurement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, international development, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a start-up leadership role, accelerator, or innovations in the humanitarian or international development sector.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory, with intermediate knowledge of another official UN language advantageous.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, ability to interact with stakeholders, and excellent communication skills.
