Electrical Engineer for Data Centers

Job Title: Electrical Engineer for Data Centers
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in power and cooling supply or energy management to join our team at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) Scientific Computing Center in Karlsruhe.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with engineering firms to design and plan a data center for the SCC
- Design and implement power supply systems for server rooms, adhering to KIT internal interfaces
- Coordinate with the Building Management department to ensure efficient cooling systems at SCC
- Procure, install, and operate power supply units in server rooms
- Develop and implement energy monitoring systems at SCC, analyzing energy consumption and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Act as the Responsible Electrical Specialist for SCC, overseeing training, safety protocols, and documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a data center environment
- Strong understanding of power and cooling supply systems, as well as energy management principles
- Excellent communication, organizational, and quality-oriented skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
