Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled electrical engineer to join our team for a period of 6 months. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, combining industrial development and academic research.

About the Project

The project involves the development of a novel method for calculating eddy current losses in electrical systems. The candidate will be responsible for calculating the B-field, including the effects of power electronics, and determining the resulting eddy currents in a defined area. The project will also involve the optimization of the system to minimize losses.

Your Tasks

  • Calculate the B-field, taking into account the effects of power electronics and excluding eddy currents, based on previous studies
  • Define a region around the investigated conductor or magnet with the corresponding boundary conditions for the B-field
  • Determine the resulting eddy currents in the previously defined area
  • Determine the feedback of the eddy currents on the B-field using an iterative approach
  • Calculate the actual AC losses
  • Minimize losses by optimizing the segmentation of the conductors/magnets

Your Profile

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Knowledge and experience with ANSYS Maxwell and MATLAB are highly desirable
  • Excellent German and English language skills in writing and speaking
  • Ability to work independently, structured, and with a high degree of autonomy
  • Good communication and organizational skills
