Train Operations Apprentice in Freight Transport

Embark on a rewarding journey with DB Cargo AG through our comprehensive apprenticeship program as a Train Operator in the Freight Transport sector.
What you will learn during your apprenticeship:
- Master the operation of diesel locomotives for the collection of goods from various clients.
- Effectively shunt freight cars onto designated tracks.
- Assemble trains by coupling and uncoupling individual freight cars.
- Gain a thorough understanding of safety regulations governing railway operations and your specific vehicle.
- Conduct inspections on freight trains and ensure secure load handling.
- Commence and conclude your daily tasks at your local marshalling yard.
Your qualifications:
- Completion of secondary education (or nearing completion), with a minimum age of 16, and a keen interest in technology.
- Enjoyment of outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to take initiative and make informed decisions.
- Dependable and resilient in nature.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
