Position Overview
Senior Mechanical Engineer - Propulsion Systems
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join a talented team of engineering experts at Volocopter. Your main focus will be to manage all structural components of the propulsion system, encompassing design, evaluation, and regulatory compliance. This role will require you to engage in various tasks, from planning tests to conducting structural assessments, ensuring adherence to the highest quality benchmarks.
Required Qualifications
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- At least 4 years of experience in mechanical design engineering
- Proficient in FEM simulation tools and structural evaluation
- Experience in certifying aerospace structures
- Familiarity with PLM Software, ideally Siemens Teamcenter
- Expertise in static, fatigue, thermal, and vibration analysis
- Hands-on experience with testing processes and documentation
- Highly driven with a proactive approach to work
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with aerospace standards and development methodologies
- Proficiency in software tools such as HyperMesh, Nastran, and OptiStruct
- Project management experience utilizing tools like Jira
- Basic knowledge of CAD Software, preferably Siemens NX
