Internship in Climate Finance Strategy

About the Role: The Partnering for Readiness (PfR) initiative is dedicated to assisting partner nations in strategically planning for climate finance and facilitating access to the Green Climate Fund (GCF). This program enhances the capabilities of countries to establish frameworks for the independent execution of climate projects and to achieve their climate objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development, execution, and reporting of activities related to GCF Readiness.
- Assist in researching and generating informational materials regarding GCF Board meetings, processes, and options for implementing readiness.
- Manage information and communication effectively.
- Contribute to the organization and follow-up of workshops and collaborative meetings.
- Prepare presentations and meeting minutes.
- Communicate GCF Readiness-related activities of GIZ through various internal and external media.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant academic program or graduated within the last six months.
- Knowledge in climate change, particularly in international climate finance and policy, adaptation, mitigation, or green financial systems.
- Understanding of development cooperation principles.
- Practical experience in relevant internships or part-time roles, including international exposure.
- Strong analytical skills, structured approach to work, and proficient verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capacity to work autonomously, even under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a plus.
- Proficient in standard MS Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Compensation: A monthly stipend of €2,134.52 (gross) will be provided.
