Project Manager Functional Safety Projects

AVL Software and Functions GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our functional safety projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordination, and support of safety-related development projects under consideration of the requirements of ISO 26262 & ISO 21448 in the areas of electric drive technology and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate safety-related development projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 & ISO 21448 standards
  • Responsible for project timeline, scope, resource, and budget management
  • Support customers and project teams in functional safety topics, including effort planning, moderation, and safety assessments
  • Manage configuration management, change and concern management, alignment of interfaces, requirements engineering, and test management
  • Lead technical teams within the framework of functional safety projects
  • Initiate and coordinate interdisciplinary departmental collaboration between system, hardware, and software
  • Collaborate with sales team during project acquisition
Requirements
  • Completed studies in mechanical or electrical engineering, mechatronics, or similar
  • Several years of professional and industry experience
  • Experience as function developer or architect highly welcome
  • Experience in the area of functional safety (ISO 26262)
  • Good knowledge of the automotive sector, including its processes
  • Experience with industry-standard life cycle management tools
  • Communication, team leadership, and project management skills
  • High analytical and conceptual skills
  • Persuasiveness and commitment in communication and appearance
  • Good English and German language skills
