About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Cwmbran, United Kingdom. As a key member of our Electrified Power Business Unit, you will be responsible for purchasing assigned items and executing buying strategies to optimize cost and lead times.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing and procurement of goods and services to meet business requirements
- Analysis of sourcing information to identify cost reduction opportunities and process improvements
- Supporting and leading projects from conception to closure, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
- Procurement of inventory, supplies, and capital goods, including obtaining quotations and raising orders with vendors
- Expediting orders to ensure timely delivery and analyzing sourcing and purchasing initiatives to improve efficiency
- Presentation of project timelines and mitigation strategies to stakeholders
- Engagement in design and process responsibilities to achieve cost-effective products and conducting minor supplier negotiations
Requirements
- Studying for a degree in Business Management, Project Management, Procurement, or Supply Chain/Logistics
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage concurrent projects with varying priorities
- Good MS package experience and a structured approach to problem-solving
