Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Topcon. As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our employees and management team.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Act as a point of contact for all employees and managers within your designated area of responsibility.
  • Support the HR Manager in all HR-related matters, including the preparation of promotions, job changes, maternity leave requests, and related discussions with line managers and employees.
  • Solve inter-personal work-related issues between employees, including discussions related to warnings and terminations, as well as complex cases.
  • Ensure equal treatment and consistency apply.
  • Coordinate employee exit procedures, including the creation of reference letters.

Apprenticeship/ Dual Study Programme/ Working Students

  • Recruit candidates for apprenticeships, dual study programs, and working student positions.
  • Coordinate program activities with the Chamber of Commerce, universities, and internal departments.
  • Act as a point of contact during program activities.
  • Coordinate working student engagements with related departments.

Personal Development

  • Coordinate and support Topcon-internal development programs.
  • Coordinate the creation and update of training plans with cost centre owners and administer obtained training certificates in Workday.

Recruiting & Employer Branding

  • Create and place job advertisements via Workday and job boards not included in the WD-process.
  • Manage applicant flow in coordination with the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Conduct job interviews and issue employment contracts for Support IC to Manager roles.
  • Participate in job fairs and maintain contact with universities for working students and recruitment agencies for temp staff workers.

HR-Roadmap

  • Support the HR Manager in coordinating and implementing performance reviews, goal setting, salary reviews, merit and bonus payments, and annual leave management.

HR-Documents & Statistics

  • Create, update, and publish HR documents in the TELE-document management system for auditing purposes.
  • Prepare HR data and statistics as required and create HR-PPTs for work meetings.

Education and Experience

  • Qualifications in Human Resources, psychology, law, business, or equivalent experience.
  • Training in employment legislation, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and/or preventive labor relations is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in HR business, preferably in an international, matrixed environment.
  • Fluent English and German (written and spoken) is necessary.
  • Deep knowledge of German local law and legislation and general knowledge of other countries' labor legislation.
  • Evidence of maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • High level of computer literacy (Socials/Internet/MS Office Suite/SaaS).
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to travel within the region.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Broad knowledge and experience in Human Resources, including recruitment, employment legislation, compensation, employee relations, safety, training, and employee development.
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Desire to collaborate to achieve results (both with the global HR team and local Operations).
  • Contribute to a team environment through developing positive working relationships based on trust and integrity.
