Department Overview
The Customer & Contract Management division is essential to the Service Offshore sector of Vestas Northern & Central Europe (NCE). This department is tasked with ensuring an exceptional customer experience and proficient contract oversight.
Role Overview
As a Service Contract Manager, your primary duties will be executed before and during the operational phase of offshore wind farms. You will provide guidance and insights regarding contractual and commercial matters that impact the delivery of operations and maintenance (O&M) services. Your role will include offering contract management assistance, clarifying contractual obligations, and ensuring that the company's commercial interests are consistently protected.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Service team by interpreting contracts in terms of scope, obligations, rights, and remedies, and provide concise summaries.
- Review incoming communications from clients and contractors, and in collaboration with the Service team, draft routine notices and submissions as per contractual requirements.
- Maintain an overview of claims and coordinate the assessment and resolution of such claims with other departments.
- Support the negotiation and drafting of settlement agreements to facilitate the resolution of disputes under relevant contracts.
- Collaborate closely with the Service team and the Vestas Legal department.
- Proven experience in contract and claims management, with a strong background in preparing claim correspondence related to defect/warranty claims, cost claims, and time extension claims.
- Extensive experience in the wind or heavy construction sectors, preferably in a contract and claims management role.
- Strong commercial awareness and acumen.
- Broad understanding of contract types and structures within the construction and energy sectors (e.g., FIDIC).
- Professional qualifications (e.g., RICS) or relevant academic credentials (e.g., legal qualifications related to the construction industry) are advantageous.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload with minimal supervision.
- Awareness of cultural differences in an international and geographically diverse organization.
- Pragmatic and accurate approach to contract management and enforcement.
- Positive attitude and genuine interest in process enhancements.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, both legal and business-related.
