Project Manager Assistant

Applied Materials is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager Assistant to support our projects in Europe, working closely with the Lead Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to gather information for the Profit and Loss workbook, reviewing and refining it with the customer's Request For Quote.
  • Construct the Profit and Loss workbook, defining the cost structure, including effort, travels, licenses, maintenance, risks, and other costs, and monitor the approval process, making adjustments based on feedback.
  • Build proposal slides for services-related tasks, establishing a high-level project plan, project charter, defining assumptions, out of scope items, resource plan, and risk matrix, working with regional and deployment managers to build the resource plan.
  • Create a statement of work based on the proposal and customer purchase order, driving its completion within the review and approval process with the PMO team, customer, sales, legal, and management.
  • Report progress during weekly internal status meetings on presales.
Project Management:
  • Prepare kick-off slides, aligning with the customer on project plan, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Create a project plan in MS Project, validating the resource plan with the deployment manager and regional manager, establishing project information in SAP.
  • Ensure the project remains on track in scope, time, and quality by monitoring project activities and updating the project plan, reviewing the project dashboard by aligning with internal stakeholders and customer project teams, ensuring good teamwork for project success, and effective communication with the management team.
  • Control project actuals (effort and travel) in SAP, run project reviews with the customer, and create project change requests as needed during the project.
  • Organize customer visits during project execution activities, address first-level escalation, prepare and run steering committee meetings, and monitor second-level escalation.
Role Expectations:
  • Regular travels to customer sites (20-50% of the time, depending on activities).
  • Good level of project management skills (PMI certification is strongly recommended).
  • Proficient in project management tools (MS Project, SAP, Pert, SWOT, Scrum).
  • Master's degree.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
