About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Commodity Buyer, EU to join our Global Purchasing Organization in Europe. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with our company's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage the supply base for plastics commodities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of purchasing activities and resolve any supplier-related issues.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal customers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure purchasing performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with company policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and adherence.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in strategic and operational purchasing of direct and indirect materials, including plastics commodities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with purchasing software and systems.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time.
