Join Our Team as a Science Communication Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Science Communication Specialist to join our team at the Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung e.V. (PIK). As a key member of our Research Department Earth System Analysis, you will play a crucial role in advancing public awareness and understanding of our research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate complex scientific research and findings into clear, engaging, and accessible content for diverse audiences.
  • Develop and manage content for various communication channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Conduct literature research and media analyses to critically evaluate new experimental and theoretical methods and data.
  • Coordinate collaborative projects and initiatives with partners to advance mutual goals.
  • Advise the project management on all aspects of science communication.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience of working in science communication, knowledge transfer, public outreach, or a related field for several years.
  • Full proficiency in spoken and written English, with further professional-level language skills being a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Photography and videography, video and image editing, graphic design, and layouting skills are desirable.
