At Wayfair's Supplier Inventory Management division, we collaborate with a diverse range of suppliers to enhance customer satisfaction. Our focus is on accelerating speed and availability through strategic inventory management and supplier partnerships, utilizing both Wayfair's fulfillment services and the suppliers' own logistics capabilities.
Our inventory strategy is crucial for developing a scalable business model that supports Wayfair's growth objectives. You will be responsible for generating insights that influence suppliers' product selection, manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and operational efficiency. Key areas of focus will include financial analysis to inform inventory decisions, managing surplus stock, planning for promotional inventory, and enhancing overall inventory productivity.
We seek driven individuals who can effectively partner with suppliers to expand their business with Wayfair, emphasizing product availability, inventory turnover, and proactive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various teams, including Analytics, Category Management, and Forecasting, to analyze sales and market trends that affect inventory forecasts.
- Regularly report performance trends and potential improvement areas to senior leadership across different departments.
- Design and implement strategies to enhance sales performance, inventory turnover, in-stock rates, and network efficiency, while developing plans for replenishment and sales strategies aligned with supplier objectives.
- Engage with suppliers to ensure adherence to replenishment schedules and inventory commitments, while formulating sustainable strategies for business growth.
- Track key performance indicators and initiate corrective measures in collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Oversee the efficient flow of inbound inventory, including forecasting, purchasing, and managing aged stock.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving Inventory Planning systems, data accuracy, and operational processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis on inventory-related challenges, develop actionable plans, and manage projects for improvement.
- Perform ad hoc analyses, both financial and operational, utilizing standard reporting tools and Excel to drive supplier actions and support decision-making.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in operations, retail, engineering, consulting, strategy, or finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- An entrepreneurial mindset; adaptability and comfort with change are crucial.
- A collaborative spirit with a strong enthusiasm for teamwork across functions.
- Excellent communication skills in English are mandatory; proficiency in German or Polish is a plus but not required.
