Job Title: Energy Efficiency Programme Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy Efficiency Programme Advisor to join our team at GIZ. As a key member of our programme, you will play a crucial role in promoting sustainable and resilient building design and construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop key services to be implemented in country components, jointly with country colleagues
  • Provide country-backstopping as a focal point in the headquarter team
  • Act as a knowledge focal point within the project and externally for key topics related to the buildings transition, such as financing, adaptation, and building materials
  • Contribute to project management through reporting and preparation of governance meetings
  • Engage in international outreach and agenda-setting, including at climate change conferences and in the context of GlobalABC
Requirements:
  • University degree in a relevant field, such as architecture, energy efficiency, urban planning, climate, environment, or political science
  • Substantial work experience with financing institutions or policy advice, preferably in partner countries
  • Strong organizational, planning, and self-management competences, ability to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously, solve problems, meet deadlines, and maintain a high quality of work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Business fluent in English; fluent in German and either French or Spanish
