About the Position
As the Vice President of Supply Chain Management & Procurement , you will oversee our international sourcing framework across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, managing an expenditure exceeding 1 billion EUR. Your primary responsibility will be to elevate our sourcing framework and supply chain to achieve unparalleled efficiency and data-driven insights within the eCommerce food sector as we expand into new markets and brands.
You will play a pivotal role in managing our cost of goods sold and ensuring the quality of ingredients while spearheading significant enhancement initiatives throughout our upstream supply chain. Your contributions will have an immediate effect on our financial performance and provide you with the opportunity to influence our sourcing and supply chain strategy. Collaborating closely with senior management stakeholders globally and within our local markets will offer promising career prospects.
This role is based in Berlin and reports directly to the COO Upstream.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse team of 300 professionals across various locations.
- Continue to expand our sourcing network, enhance supplier management, reduce costs of goods sold, and improve ingredient quality as we introduce new markets and brands.
- Develop our supply chain management team and establish comprehensive KPIs to accurately measure and enhance supply chain performance.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing and supply chain stakeholders across local clusters in various European markets and the Asia-Pacific region within a matrix structure.
- Cultivate our team of process owners and implement strategies to measure and enhance process excellence.
- Establish improved adherence to processes across planning, ordering, receiving, and other supply chain functions.
- Design and implement standardized operational procedures while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and nurture existing teams to effectively manage a multi-billion sourcing network utilizing advanced strategies, processes, and tools.
- Collaborate with our SCM Technology and Analytics Teams to enhance our technological landscape.
- Identify and deploy cutting-edge tools for strategic sourcing and supplier management, unlocking further cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities while ensuring sustainable project implementations with a significant impact on the bottom line.
- Contribute to building a leading online food company supply chain and supplier network.
Qualifications
- A distinguished academic background with a degree in Engineering, Business, Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Ideally, 5+ years of leadership experience within a retail or FMCG environment.
- Preferably, 3+ years of experience in a top-tier management consulting firm.
- Extensive experience in strategic procurement and supply chain operations.
- Proven ability to inspire, develop, and manage a high-performing team, including leaders of leaders.
- Significant experience in leading large, geographically dispersed teams, emphasizing collaboration and team cohesion.
- Strong commitment to harmonizing operational practices, demonstrating a clear understanding of global procurement strategies and their execution.
- A track record of successful cost-reduction and quality control initiatives, combined with project management expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in process optimization, with a proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
- Exceptional data-driven decision-making capabilities, with experience in leveraging data analysis and metrics to address business needs and inform strategic planning.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, exhibiting initiative and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to local operations as required.
