We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Universal Quantum, a pioneering company in the field of quantum computing. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing the hardware for our ion-trap quantum computing systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop vacuum systems for ion trap quantum devices, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
- Design and develop thermal control systems for ion trap quantum devices, minimizing thermal noise and maximizing system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with laser systems and electronics designs.
- Work closely with project managers to plan and schedule projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on thermal management systems.
- Proven experience in the engineering design lifecycle, from concept to detailed design, manufacture, and testing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in 3D CAD/CAE tools, such as SolidWorks.
- Experience in stress/strain analysis and mechanical structural design.
- Understanding of material science and its limitations in vacuum systems.
