Job Overview
In your position as a (Junior) Consultant in the field of Audit / ESG-Assurance / Sustainability Reporting, you will evaluate the sustainability reports of our clients and guide them towards the future of sustainability reporting. This role allows you to contribute to a significant societal mission and build trust in the increasingly important ESG metrics and information.
Your Responsibilities
Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make a tangible impact on transparency in reporting while helping businesses tackle future challenges?
- You will assist in the assessment of sustainability information from large, internationally oriented companies, exploring exciting topics such as carbon emissions, circular economy metrics, and management strategies for diversity and inclusion.
- You will support our clients in the operational implementation of exciting regulatory requirements stemming from the EU Taxonomy or the Corporate Sustainability Directive (CSRD), aiding them on their journey towards integrated reporting of financial and ESG information.
- You will independently carry out tasks within audit projects and communicate with our clients, engaging closely with various departments within the client organizations and collaborating with colleagues from other KPMG divisions—both nationally and internationally.
- You will employ an innovative and digital auditing approach, continuously evolving the future of auditing in collaboration with your team.
To thrive as a (Junior) Consultant in the field of Audit / ESG-Assurance / Sustainability Reporting, you should possess a strong academic background in business administration, industrial engineering, information systems, natural sciences, environmental sciences, or law.
- Ideally, you have gained knowledge in auditing, sustainability management, corporate reporting, investor relations, or finance and accounting/controlling through your studies or initial practical experiences.
- You may have foundational knowledge of common standards and requirements in non-financial reporting (e.g., GRI, TCFD, NFRD, UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights, or EU Taxonomy) or financial reporting (IFRS, HGB, US-GAAP).
- You are motivated to contribute to societal well-being, build trust, and continuously develop yourself and your surroundings.
- Your strengths include a quick grasp of concepts, a strong affinity for numbers, and a structured working style. Additionally, you are a true team player.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications (especially PowerPoint and Excel) is expected.
- You possess fluent German or English language skills at C1 level and demonstrate the necessary flexibility required in the auditing and consulting environment.
