The Operations and Risk division within Statkraft's Market segment serves as the central hub for all operational support related to our Trading and Origination functions, as well as Asset Management across Europe and the United States. This department oversees all processes and operations within the Back Office for both regions, Risk Management, New Product Development, and the Digitalization Office, all aimed at bolstering our Trading and Origination efforts.
Our ETRM solutions are essential in fulfilling the strategic objectives of the company by facilitating business processes and supporting stakeholders throughout Europe and the US. We treat these solutions as products, taking charge of their prioritization and development planning. As a Business Analyst, your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Assisting in product development and project initiatives, ensuring that the solutions align with the dynamic requirements of our business processes and stakeholders.
- Engaging closely with stakeholders from both business and IT sectors to capture their needs and convert them into functional specifications.
- Leading workshops and meetings to collect user requirements, consolidate feedback, and ensure coherence between business needs and technical solutions.
- Collaborating with development teams to produce clear and thorough documentation, including user stories, use cases, and process diagrams.
- Working alongside Product Owners and Product Managers to aid in the planning of product releases.
- Participating in testing and quality assurance processes, confirming that product outputs accurately meet the outlined specifications.
- Contributing to the creation of training materials and functional user documentation, and conducting training sessions for users.
- Monitoring and evaluating product performance from a business perspective, identifying potential issues or bottlenecks, and recommending suitable enhancements.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science with strong academic performance.
- Multiple years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within the commodity trading sector or financial services.
- A solid grasp of end-to-end business processes, including deal entry, validation, clearing, and risk management.
- Exceptional analytical abilities with a talent for translating complex business requirements into clear, actionable specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to identify challenges, propose solutions, and make informed recommendations.
- Proficiency in utilizing business analysis tools and methodologies, such as process modeling, requirements gathering, and data analysis.
- Experience with Agile product development methodologies.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
