Role: Resident Site Manager - Switzerland (Beznau)
Primary Responsibilities:
As the Resident Site Manager, you will provide on-site leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality services while prioritizing customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for achieving financial objectives set for the client and nurturing strong customer relationships through a comprehensive understanding of site-specific requirements and purchasing protocols.
Key Duties:
On-Site Customer Engagement:
- Act as the representative of Westinghouse at the customer site, ensuring responsiveness to both planned and urgent customer needs.
- Gather and share critical customer insights to enhance relationships and understand site-specific requirements.
- Ensure that all Westinghouse activities align with the unique environment, policies, and procedures of the site to meet standards and minimize costs associated with poor quality.
- Champion safety and human performance initiatives.
Identifying Customer Requirements:
- Regularly issue plant status updates and identify unmet customer needs, communicating these to sales and product teams for potential solutions.
- Collect market intelligence, including long-term operational and capital plans, and share insights with the relevant Account Manager.
- Identify and assess customer needs, reviewing bid specifications for the applicability of Westinghouse products and services.
- Direct and coordinate various product lines for technical and financial input to support the proposal process, leading negotiations up to contract signature.
- Actively pursue identified business opportunities within the customer organization.
Oversight of Execution:
- Provide guidance and support to field project managers throughout project execution.
- Oversee scope and schedule development, contingency planning, and the creation of work packages and project plans.
- Supervise Westinghouse personnel on-site, offering feedback on performance.
- Collaborate with customers to address and resolve barriers to project completion.
- Elevate unresolved issues through appropriate channels within both the customer and Westinghouse organizations.
- Coordinate the development of long-term strategic maintenance and performance enhancement programs.
- Support the Account Executive in matters related to customer projects and operational services.
- Prepare status reports and lead presentations for the Account Team and Executive Board.
- Manage and resolve customer satisfaction issues, both technical and commercial.
- Review performance metrics and provide feedback to team members.
- Facilitate the identification of lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Building Customer Relationships:
- Develop consultative relationships with key stakeholders within the site organization, including operations, maintenance, and engineering decision-makers.
- Utilize customer relationship management tools to capture insights and document actions that support target objectives.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of Westinghouse products and services to become a trusted advisor to customers.
- Participate in customer meetings to understand immediate issues and long-term business needs.
- Lead the resolution of any additional scope, delays, or contract changes related to site activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering or field experience, including prior field service and utility experience.
- Broad technical knowledge of plant operations and field service engineering principles.
- Experience in complex contract management and customer negotiations.
