Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking a highly skilled Lean / Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team in Speyer. As a key member of our site leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of our TEOA (TE Operating Advantage) program, which aims to improve our business performance by applying best practice improvement tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with site management and the TEOA team to develop a site-level Current State VSM, Future State VSM, and TEOA deployment plan.
  • Discuss resources and priorities needed to support the deployment plan with site management.
  • Plan, drive, and follow up on the TEOA deployment plan at the site.
  • Hold weekly follow-up meetings on improvement projects as planned in the deployment plan.
  • Hold monthly review meetings with plant management and EMEA TEOA management to review committed deliverables and adjust the TEOA deployment plan if needed.
  • Increase knowledge among all levels of employees by detecting training needs and organizing training on problem-solving techniques and TEOA improvement tools.
  • Deliver TEOA trainings according to the TEOA Learning Path in the local language (Novice & Apprentice).
  • Share Successfully Demonstrated Practices (SDPs) with the TE Community.
  • Lead more complex improvement projects, such as implementing new material flow systems.
  • Understand DIGITAL plant needs, translate needs into DIGITAL value creation initiatives.
  • Prepare and follow up on the plant DIGITAL budget around CAPEX, OPEX, TEIS Development-Enhancement-Deployment.
  • Ensure DIGITAL value creation using intensively deployed DIGITAL solutions.
  • Be responsible for DIGITAL KPIs.
  • Actively participate in DIGITAL community events.
Requirements
  • B.S. (engineering preferred) or similar technician education.
  • 10 to 15 years of professional experience with a focus on production, logistics, or engineering and economical knowledge.
  • At least 5 years' experience in leading continuous improvement activities on site level (Lean Leader or similar function).
  • Extensive hands-on and practical experience in using value stream mapping and implementing TEOA tools. Lead minimum 25 kaizen events with proven results in at least the following areas: 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, and TPM.
  • User experience with state-of-the-art DIGITAL technologies like MES.
  • Demonstrated DIGITAL implementation and project management expertise.
  • Understanding DIGITAL Value Creation.
  • Big picture thinker (Manufacturing Processes, TEOA, DIGITAL).
  • Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
  • Have the skills (patience, perseverance, and passion) to drive the TEOA and DIGITAL culture across the plant.
  • Credibility and experience to work effectively and directly with the senior on-site leadership team.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management (strong leadership skills).
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically (i.e. deliver results).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Analytically minded and data driven. The candidate must also have a holistic overview of complex situations and deal effectively with difficult issues when they arise.
  • Ability to lead conversations with IT experts, operations, and management teams.
  • Must be a certified TEOA Practitioner or willing to acquire within the first year.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and local language is essential.
  • Six sigma Green Belt or higher degree is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
